Our Commitment
"Home of the Happy Hotdogs" we are dedicated to breeding quality Daschunds. Our primary focus is to provide companion AKC registered Daschunds that are excellent in temperament and health and to promote a balanced, down to earth perspective of a Daschund.
While we do not conduct an invasive screening process of prospective homes, we are very committed to our puppies and their new families. We do not place puppies into homes when we feel it is not a good match. This practice protects both the puppy as well as prospective families who might be disillusioned or even dissatisfied with the puppy.
As you probably already know, there is a huge diversity of practices, policies, and styles among Daschund breeders in terms how they breed and place puppies. We want our prospective family of one of our puppies to be as informed about what how we raise our Happy Hotdogs. We prefer that you consider the various twists and turns of living with a Daschund before you take your new puppy home rather than after.
We make every effort to match puppies into loving homes. While we do not conduct invasive "interviews," we do like to exchange considerable information with prospective homes to insure a successful experience for you and the new puppy. We ask for a binding commitment from families before and after they take the puppy home.
We are happy to receive email or telephone inquiries about our puppies, and make every effort to satisfactorily answer all inquiries within 24 hours. Only those who actually speak with us by phone is placed on our "short list," which is a preliminary, general matching of the families with the puppies. The potential family on this "list" will be invited to visit the puppies before placement (usually about 7 weeks) - to meet us and the puppies, and to select their puppy. While distance or other factors may not always make this pre-placement visit possible, it is useful in transitioning the puppy into your home. It is not, however, required. If you have spoken with us by phone and told us that you are definitely interested in a puppy, please stay in weekly contact with us (email or telephone) between the puppies' 4th and 8th week old birthdays to confirm your interest.
In the best interest of our potential customers who are expecting an addition to their household, please take in consideration of expecting a newborn into your family in addition of taking one of our puppies home this is a very stressful period of time. We ask that you consider the fairness in raising your new addition to your family along with one of our puppies.
If you are considering purchasing one of our puppies as a gift for a child, please purchase a puppy for a child 9 yrs and older. This is subject to negotiations based solely on the breeders discretion.
It is very important to us that we meet the request of our clients. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
